SCHOOLING
In recent months, and not without much controversy, the Australian government has introduced a single website dedicated to helping parents find and learn more about an individual school or schools. It is called 'My School' and has been developed to allow and encourage comparison between statistically similar schools across Australia.
The website posts the annual results of literacy and numeracy testing of students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 and provides information about school demographics, such as number of students and staff, to help interpret the data. The information contained within the site is excellent and it should be the first point of call for any parent looking to migrate and settle their children into the Australian education system.
